4 Tips For Fun on Saturday!

The A Room to Heal 5k Run & Walk is coming this Saturday at Otsiningo Park!

We are very excited to see all of you there. But we’ve been asked a great question:

“A Room to Heal, how do I prepare for the actual run itself?”

Fortunately, our good friends at Charity Walks Blog have helped us make this question really easy to answer.
  • Figure out what the weather is going to be like.
Now we know this is sometimes an issue here in the Southern Tier, but it should be 74 degrees and sunny with only a 10% chance of rain. We would also recommend some sun block for the day, preferably the seat proof kind for kids and adults.
  • Wear comfortable shoes.
Whether you’re running or walking, or doing any combination of the two, the shoes that you have can make or break your Saturday, so make sure to have appropriate arch support, good grip and waterproof material!
  • Don’t forget to put on your number!
We’ll have all of this for you at our registration table starting at 8am, so don’t you worry!
  • Finally, grab a bottle of water (we’ll have those as well) and stay hydrated out there.
Do all of these things and your experience at Otsiningo Park should be great this Saturday.

We can’t wait for you to join us at the finish line of the A Room to Heal 5K Run & Walk at Otsiningo Park, Binghamton NY, on Saturday, May 31st from 8am to 11am, with our race starting at 9am!

Running in Your Pajamas Is Awesome!

Everyone also knows that helping out children is a great thing as well.

Everyone knows that hanging out in your pajamas is the best thing in the world,
particularly with a cup of hot cocoa!

Well, we here at A Room to Heal would like to mention that, in addition to being a great cause, the A Room to Heal 5K Run & Walk has some other added benefits:

  • Running (and walking) improves the way that your lower body feels. It makes you flexible like Stretch Armstrong.
  • Running (and walking) makes you more coordinated. This is helpful when you’re chasing your kids around the house.
  • Running (and walking) burns calories. And who doesn’t want to get rid of those! Right!

There are so many benefits to running and walking, we can’t wait for YOU to join US at the finish line of the A Room to Heal 5K Run & Walk at Otsiningo Park, Binghamton NY, on Saturday, May 31st from 8am to 11am, with our race starting at 9am!
